Our 2019 Trike-A-Thon
Supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
Every year, we look forward to getting our families involved in our St. Jude Trike-A-Thon event to support the tireless efforts of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to find a cure for childhood cancer.
And this year was no different, and with the support of our amazing families, we raised close to $5K to make a difference for the inspiring and courageous children fighting a life-changing and life-threatening illness.
An important concept of Montessori education is the aspect of connecting with our community. We instill the importance of giving back in our children from a young age, and it ultimately becomes a way of life.
Lending a helping hand to someone who needs our assistance is an integral part of everyday life in the Montessori classroom. The acts of kindness we are privileged to witness daily are simply beautiful…
When we watch a child help their friend zip their jacket or showing another friend how to do a specific job, or giving a comforting hug to someone who is feeling sad, it is all about caring for one another in a community which promotes empathy and compassion.
Our families are the KEY to our success
We cannot thank our amazing families enough for consistently coming through for us and participating in our school and community events. We are so very lucky to have them in our corner and team up with us to make a difference for St. Jude.
And while the donations are an integral part of making a difference for St. Jude, it is the coming together, the fun we have with the Trike-A-Thon, and the big smiles on all our children’s faces, that make everything worthwhile, each and every day!
Giving back starts with the Individual
Why are the community efforts such an integral part of Montessori education? It is because we believe in the beauty of diversity and community within our Montessori learning environment. We celebrate our individuality and appreciate our differences, and we all come together to bring out the best in each other!
